The territorial context within this project moves includes the Southern Lazio region, an area distinguished by an important productive activities concentration (inside which industrial district of “Mazzocchio” stands out), very economically meaningful for some reasons:

• The highly diversified range of involved economic sectors, between which we can find – for example – the food industry, the building sector, the nautical sector and the craft industry.
• The importance of some of the local companies, well known at national level as a reference point inside their own sector.
• The technological level and the innovation strategy applied on production processes.

Market and economic analysis carried out before the project took place has pointed out that the presence of the elements described above, vital for local economy, is placed side by side with some negative factors, acting as a brake for the economic development:

• Public Administration lack of interest in company problems and needs.
• Low level of protection and support for the smaller companies
• Lacking of a single-direction management politics and of local infrastructures focused towards the creation of an net organized with the purpose of directing local economy towards developmental aids.
• Old-style management way-of-thinking, that leads businessmen far away new business management approaches and instruments.

In few words, the area under analysis has several interesting elements able to raise it at level of being a pulling factor for local economy, but in the same time it suffers a lot for the widespread underestimation that suffocates its growing capabilities, generating negative effects on the whole area in both the economic and social point of view.
